You Can Trust This Robot

This morning on msnbc.com, right there next to the latest snap of Brangelina, is proof that we have created robots with human intelligence. Actually, I should say that this robot has exceeded our intelligence, as he (she?) is able to keep secrets. We humans aren’t always so good at that.

The word “secretive” is an adjective, meaning “disposed to secrecy” or “not open or outgoing in speech, activity or purpose”, according to Webster’s Dictionary. By calling the robot “secretive”, msnbc.com is indicating that the robot itself is keeping a secret – no small task these days. I assume, rather, that this was a “secret robot space plane”, meaning, it’s one that not a whole lot of us knew about. Until now.

  1. I love reading these – and I’m not just saying that because I’m married to you :)

Alot of these errors are so subtle that nobody even notices. (I wonder what that “Alot” looks like anyway? :)
